What it’s all about

So who is this crazy person sending her thoughts into the universe?

I call myself Queen Elizabeth, a little ostentatious I know, but one of my names is Elizabeth and in my youth I was convinced that I was a monarch…yup, I’ve reverted to childhood.  Also, Elizabeth is a very common name and WordPress was not amused by my attempts to find something more pedestrian….so QueenElizabeth it is.  No bowing or scraping necessary.

What on earth is this blog for?

Well, I’ve lived and breathed Brisbane for most of my life and I feel that it’s time to unleash my perspective on BrizVegas into the internets!  I’ll be reviewing the many things that I come across in Brisbane as part of my everday life; whether that be diets, restaurants, theme parks or wedding venues – whatever I come across, I will share with you in the hope that it’s something you’re interested in 🙂

I’ll also be throwing my own efforts at DIY, cooking and getting fit/healthy  into the mix, just to give it a little Liz-flavour!

I hope you enjoy the ride, because I know I’m going to love sharing my world with you!

Much love,

The Reigning Monarch

Liz  xx

  1. Hi Liz, I came across your blog and was wondering if you have had your engagement party at Lightspace yet? My partner and I are considering the venue for our wedding and was just wondering what it was like. Thanks, Nicole

    • Hi Nicole,

Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you. Just getting back into the swing of things now!

We’re having the engagement party in a few weeks. I really love lightspace as a venue, it’s beautiful! Few things to note, depending on what day you’re booking, it’s around the 2100 -2500 mark I think, you’ll have to check the website.

They close the venue at 11pm, which I only just found out 😦 I was a bit disappointed since I’d already sent out invites saying it was until 12, but oh well. Apparently they’ve had some noise complaints so it’s been an issue.

You have to hire your own caterer and bar staff and BYO alcohol or drinks. Which has its pros and cons obviously, but we’re pretty happy with it all.

Honestly I think it’s a great venue and John (who runs the place) has been really helpful. I’ve seen some of the weddings being set up in there and they look amazing. If you need any more info let me know 🙂

      Hope that helps Nicole!

      Love Liz xx

  2. Hi Liz. Have you had your engagement party yet? I’m also considering this place for a venue…. would love pics!? Haha. Also, what night did you have this on and what did the pricing cover? Was it the entire venue? Thank you x (jamiecameron@live.com)

    • I’m so sorry Jamie. I totally spaced on replying to this! I do have pics, I’ll make sure to put some up 🙂 We had it on a Saturday night and it was half the venue, so not the big room at the back. It worked out perfectly!

I had so many compliments on how amazing the space was, it really is a great venue. John was really great too. Hope that helps. I’ll put some pics up today.

      Liz xx
